Goldings Memorial Cup 2014

The Goldings Memorial Cup this year was held at Woolmans Playing Fields, St Albans, were as in the past it was held at Letchworth
We were told that Herts F.A. wanted the finals to be “An Event” so the finals were held on the same day as the programme’s details
below read. The weather was bitter, but even so Goldings were represented by Tony Angell, Mal and Dave Blower.
The first half football was more cat and mouse as each side sounded each other out, but the second half burst into life with two
classic goals, one from 35 yard’s, quickly followed by the second from nearly the corner flag, so the white team Queens School
were the eventual winners. As a football event, it turned out to be second half, a classic by these young men.
Our thanks to the three officials, who were young men themselves, and Herts Officials who made us all very welcome.

Joined by the Queens under 14s girls who also won their final at the same time
